Nothing melts away the chills like piping hot coffee and a shot of Irish whiskey—preferably mixed together with a bit of brown sugar and topped with a heaping scoop of whipped cream. Here’s how to whip up this cold-weather favorite for a few lucky friends.

Stir brown sugar, whiskey, and coffee together in a tall glass.

Top with a scoop (or two) of whipped cream.

Finish it off with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Serve and enjoy.

  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 6 - 8oz Irish whiskey
  • 4 cups brewed coffee (try Starbucks® Sumatra)
  • whipped cream (for homemade whipped cream, 1 cup heavy whipping cream + 1 tablespoon sugar)
  • pinch of nutmeg
Directions In a tall glass, add 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1.5 - 2oz whiskey (depending on how strong you like it), and 1 cup brewed coffee. Mix well. Top with whipped cream. Sprinkle nutmeg on top. Repeat steps for all four glasses. Serve and enjoy.

For homemade whipped cream: Using a mixer, mix heavy whipping cream and sugar on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.
